Out Of Darkness +

Out of Darkness is the anti-trafficking ministry of Atlanta Dream Center. The Mission of Out of Darkness is to REACH, RESCUE, and RESTORE all victims of commercial sexual exploitation, that the glory of God may be known. Commercial exploitation may take the form of stripping, pornography, survival sex, prostitution, or sex trafficking. Generally viewed as a problem only in 3rd world countries, sex trafficking is destroying the lives of men, women, and children all across the United States. The FBI reports that the average age that a girl of boy is first recruited into prostitution or sex trafficking in the U.S. is 11-14 years-old. Out of Darkness provides a safe refuge where the women receive new clothes, initial medical exams and treatment, representation for any immediate legal needs, and most importantly, the love and support of a new family. Our donations will go toward the initial medical examination which averages $254 per individual.

Dressember Foundation +

Dressember Foundation is a human rights organization that works to rescue victims of slavery, sexual exploitation, and other forms of violent oppression. They are standing up in a world of silent people and opposing the worldwide trafficking and exploitation of women. Dressember uses fashion to advocate for women who've been exploited. As women take on the creative challenge of wearing a dress for the 31 days of December, they are advocating for the inherent dignity of all women.The Dressember Foundation exists to inspire and empower a global community of like-minded women who are locking arms to face one of the greatest injustices of our time.Dressember is a month of wearing dresses, but it is so much more. At its core, Dressember is an embracing of the inherent freedom of all people.

Charity: Water +

Charity: Water is an international organization that works to bring clean drinking water to people in developing countries via well installations. They work with local communities and water installation partners to select appropriate technologies based on the physical and cultural factors of a community. Over a time span of about 21 months, the community gets an education on safe hygiene practices, organizes a water committee to manage the well, and installs the actual well. After this process, a plan is set to ensure the sustainability of the well via timely evaluations.

Lily's Place +

Lily's Place is a non-profit organization located in Huntington, WV that provides short-term medical care to infants suffering from prenatal drug exposure and offers non-judgmental support, education and counseling to families. Lily's Place is the first residential infant recovery center that also provides help and services for families. With the epidemic of drug addiction in our nation exploding, Lily's Place serves the tinies victims of substance abuse, newborn babies. They use proven therapeutic handling methods and the very latest weaning techniques. Lily's Place eases drug-exposed babies from their mothers drugs and gives them the best possible care available.

International Justice Mission +

IJM works through rescuing victims confined within modern day slavery, bringing criminals to justice, restoring survivors, and strengthening justice systems. Modern day slavery is present more now than ever before, with an estimated amount of slaves being more than 45 million people. Although slavery is illegal almost everywhere the laws are not heavily enforced, especially when it comes to the poor. IJM recognizes this and fights for these people. They promise to find them, save them, and free them. "We're International Justice Mission, and we believe that justice for the poor is possible.

Donation Period: November and December 2016

Donation Effect: For the months of November and December 2016, I Love Nice People was able to donate $3,471 to International Justice Mission. With this money we used IJM's Shop Catalog to specifically choose what we wanted our money to go to. We were able to fund 10 days of cybersex trafficking rescue mission ($1,050), a workshop to teach a community how to be safe in everyday situations ($800), a remote sensor to equip investigators ($400), 10 aftercare kits to children rescued from cybersex trafficking ($200), materials for a rescued family to build a thatched home ($120), a survival kit for one rescued family ($130), two aftercare kits to rescued boys in Ghana ($140), ten hours of individual therapy for a rescued child ($400), the trial fees for one survivors case to be heard in court ($105), and emergency nutrition and medical care to three rescued slaves ($126).

UGA Hero's +

UGA HEROs strives to improve the quality of life for the 12,000 children in Georgia affected by HIV/AIDS by raising money to support the programs offered by H.E.R.O. for Children, Inc., spreading awareness about the growing problem of pediatric AIDS, and combating the stigma of this disease.

Donation Effect: We contributed $520 to help better the lives for kids infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.

WV Voad +

"The West Virginia VOAD is the state chapter of the National VOAD. The WV VOAD consists of organizations active in disaster response throughout active in disaster response throughout the state of West Virginia. The VOADs role is to bring organizations together and enable them to understand each other and work together during times of disaster preparedness, response, relief, and recovery." - WV VOAD On June 23, 2016, a thousand year flood hit parts of southern West Virginia. Our hearts broke for our friends whose lives were swept away leaving disaster behind. We decided we wanted to help in whatever way we could.

Donation Effect: We were able to donate $1,394.76 to West Virginia VOAD to help them continue to help our fellow West Virginians who were impacted by the June 2016 floods.

Gethsemane Learning Center +

Morgan and Kate had the opportunity to travel to Ayacucho, Peru and visit this amazing learning center in 2014. Every individual they had the pleasure of meeting were inspiring beyond words. However, the conditions they live in are far from ideal. We were inspired by how genuinely kind hearted and generous they were even in such harsh daily conditions. We want to help bring Ayacucho, a town whose name literally means "corner of the dead" back to life to suite the happy spirits of the people who reside there. The learning center is a safe place for vulnerable children in Ayacucho. Instead of being home alone, children go to the learning center after school for a nutritious lunch, tutoring, help with school work, and a special companionship with peers and teachers.

Donation Effect: We were able to donate $500 to help children, who were not already covered by a sponsor, attend the Learning Center.

Daymark +

DAYMARK is located in our hometown of Charleston, West Virginia. Daymark provides safe and healthy housing for run away teens and/or individuals who are in the process of turning their life around. They believe in second chances and helping others live their life to the fullest. The services they provide include but are not limited to providing food and shelter to individuals seeking help, as well as various programs led by incredible mentors that teach individuals how to get back on their feet. Donation Effect: We were able to donate $500 to help sustain the work that is done at the DAYMARK homes around Charleston, WV.
